Club Continental Wedding

A few images shot by me from Nicki and David's Wedding for Ron B Wilson Photography last week at the Club Continental.

Wedding and Design by Blossoms and Accents. Rachel it was a pleasure meeting you. The colors of the wedding were black and white. Nice flower arrangements, bouquets and details like M&M engraved with the couple's names and date of wedding.

The Wedding Coordinator was Weddings by Tina.
There was some weather trouble with the heavy rain in Jacksonville last Sunday, but it cleared up just on time for an awesome outdoor ceremony by the river.
The team of photographers for this wedding was Ron, Wes and Renzo.
Nicki and David are off to Costa Rica for their honeymoon. At their departure they left in bicycles; so different from the typical limo. Congratulations Nicki and David!

There are many thing on my to do list since I came back. I really feel inspired and had a lot of ideas for making this site interesting for people looking for technical aspects of photography and also the fun stuff...

Stay tuned! And thanks for reading me...

This is my little corner...

Hi! Thanks for visiting...
Ok I'm starting to be a little more proactive on writing and working on this project.
Today was actually another great day. Just booked another wedding that I look forward to, since we came back from Vegas.
I'm actually paying attention to the details and listening to the bride and groom to get a feel of the day! Its going to be an Art Deco glam wedding in Miami Beach.
Also I was checking some material from WPPI 2009. Something that caught my attention was an Ad, they had 2 plans of action: Plan A: Hide under the covers and hope it gets better soon: or Plan B: Put on your superhero cape, take some classes, grow your business and stand above the crowd! And there is a warning: Yes, this plan requires guts!!! haha Just what I needed to hear... Thank you Jasmine Star for the inspiration.
The tabs I'm adding today are the links to the photographers that inspire me, and another tab for websites of interest if you are looking for some tutorials or just getting directed to cameras and equipment.
I know I don't have images up yet, but believe me; I'm working on it!!!

It's all about LIGHT...!!!

I'm sitting here at home looking at the work of some really talented people. I'm blown away by discovering things and the beauty behind photographs.
The title says it all. It's all about light!
We normal people, don't realize how gracious and beautiful light is. Highlights, shadows, make an impact and give character to an image. So many different variables that communicate emotions, feelings, senses, it's crazy!
I just started this blog to communicate what I am going through on my search to Visual Art Creation. As many of the speakers in Las Vegas said: You have to come out of your shell and just BE!
I'm humble after seeing all of this amazing talent that I was just exposed to. Different points of view that define who we are.
But I am discovering myself on the go. I feel like I'm awaking to something beautiful. A new world of understanding color, light, beauty in just observing my surroundings. People, things, and things made by people. It's a new world that I haven't paid attention to before.
I was joking when I was saying I'm a NEW me, but that is what life is about: To explore, to discover, to learn, to feel, to touch...

WPPI LAS VEGAS 2010

Hello everyone!
I came back from LAS VEGAS last night after a marathon on photography classes.
The Best Photographers in the World were there...
You can not imagine how life changing this event was. I got to see and experience lots of emotions looking through the work of great minds in the photography business.
For those of you that know me, I'm just starting on this very rewarding career. I went there with an open mind. Didn't know what to expect. I just wanted to learn and understand my cameras better.
Ok, it was incredible! This people are just amazing and everyone so different and unique. So many different styles, yet everyone special.
Had dreams with titles for future postings. Inspiration and Influences.
My favorite inpirational ones were: Jasmine Star! People were waiting outside for almost 2 hours hoping to get a seat. My favorite quote was: "Your website is your handshake, your blog is your voice". And also "Don't let fear stop you" DO IT!!!!

Learn about posing from Doug Gordon. Very fast paced and right on. He tough me I had to think ahead and stay on my feet. Definitely I will apply his techniques.

Jerri Ghionis was also great! He showed amazing album layouts and so creative. And on top of that a great and fun personality.

Marcus Bell
was whitout a doubt one of the most inspiring ones. His point of view about capturing emotions and photojournalistic approach really touch me. I was actually crying looking at his work.

Other topics I paid attention to were Copywrights, Law for Photographers, Business, Relationship with Clients. Thank you Dawn McCarthy. You ROCK!!!
So, now I'm back in my hometown Jacksonville. I will be working on unedited material I have.
Special thanks to Ron B. Wilson for making this dream a reality for me and Wes Lester. You are a great mentor!
Thank you for visiting again!
